We saw this movie some months back called the “Book of Life”. According to the story, if the living forget about those who have died, they disappear from existence in the afterlife in a poof of smoke, forgotten and gone forever.
Today my husband brought this up after reading about Abdullah. My part of the discussion ended as it usually does, my throat closing up, saying the same thing as always, “I think about him every single day…” Because my heart breaks for him every single day. And I still cry silently for him every single day.
He then made an amazing statement about my trip to Iraq. He told me he didn’t think it was to give anesthesia. Or to be a witness for the Faith. Or to support the mission of Samaritan’s Purse.
“You went for him. So he won’t be forgotten.”
